Biskaje

Measuring more than 27 km in length, Jeziorak is the longest lake in Poland. Its diverse shoreline with numerous bays, islands and channel connections with other lakes makes it a very attractive tourist destination. Most of the 16 islands is available for yachts, while many timber yards and floating docks allow comfortable and safe mooring. The infrastructure including the already mentioned floating docks, but also waste bins and portable toilets – additionally provided and maintained by the Jeziorak Association of Communes – allows the lake, situated in the Iława Lake District Landscape Park, to be kept clean.

This body of water is undoubtedly interesting from the point of view of tourism and natural environment and provides you with numerous opportunities to spend your days actively on cruises that start in Iława. Here you can find many marinas, shops, restaurants, hotels, but also yacht waste collection points – very useful for water tourists – as well as the only on-water petrol station in the Iława Lake District. During a cruise around Lake Jeziorak and the adjacent lakes – Ewingi and Płaskie – you can explore numerous water tourism resorts, such as Szałkowo, Sarnówek, Makowo, Siemiany, Jerzwałd, Matyty, Zalewo, Wieprz, Gubławki, or Chmielówka. In some of these towns and villages, there are only grocery shops or restaurants, while others, such as the popular village of Siemiany, also offer eco-marinas or agritourism establishments. An eco-marina can also be found in Zalew, while at the docks in Matyty and Chmielówka, you can connect your yacht to power supply and fill up your water tank. Petrol stations outside Iława are located within 1 km from the marina – in Zalew, Miłomłyn and Ostróda.
